A questionnaire nobody chases is a questionnaire nobody returns. Chasing by hand — read the recipient list, notice who is missing, write to them — works for one round and quietly stops happening across six. Give a questionnaire a due date and PULSE does it.
Set the deadline and the marks
- Open the questionnaire and set "Responses due by" in the settings panel.
- Choose how many days before the deadline to chase — 7, 3, 2, 1 and on the day are offered, and you can pick more than one.
- That is all that is required. Setting a due date and leaving the marks alone still chases at the sensible defaults, because setting a deadline is itself the act of asking to be chased.
One nudge, never a burst
If a questionnaire goes out two days before its deadline, the earlier marks it slept through are not fired retroactively. PULSE sends the one reminder that is actually due — the largest mark that has passed and has not already been sent. Missing an early reminder is not a reason to send it late.
Who is never chased
- Anyone who has answered, or who was screened out.
- Anyone whose email bounced, failed, or is unsubscribed — those need a different address, not another message to the same one.
- Everyone, once the deadline has passed. Chasing an overdue response is a different message with a different tone, and that is a decision for a person to make.
Write the reminder yourself
The reminder email sits beside the invitation in the questionnaire's settings, and both are yours to write. Left blank, PULSE sends wording that tells a half-finished respondent what they actually need to hear: their answers are saved and they can continue where they left off. Use {{survey.due}} anywhere in the subject or message and it renders as "tomorrow", "in 3 days" or "today", so the deadline can sit mid-sentence.
The link is always their own
A reminder never sends a fresh questionnaire. It re-sends the recipient's own link, so whatever they had already filled in is still there when they open it. The Take Survey button and a paste-able copy of the link are always added below your message, so the email works even if their client strips the button.
Choose the time of day
Reminders go out once a day at an hour you choose, in your workspace's own timezone: Settings → Workspace → Surveys. It defaults to 9:00 am. This is set once for the whole workspace rather than per questionnaire — it is a statement about when your business mails people, and it is read against the timezone under Localization, so set that first if it is wrong.
